Samuel Burns at PLAnET aLTEred

Large scale sculpture of steel, wood, stone and aluminum is the focus of Samuel Burns’ creative energy. Abstract forms of cut and welded metal soar across open spaces dancing with light and shadow. “Nature has always been a large influence on my work, whether plant, animal or mineral,” Sam said. An award-winning local artist whose works can be seen in many public spaces including Chattanooga and in private collections, has a twisted steel piece called “Elegant” currently on display at Planet Altered. Created from steel it was influenced by Sam’s love of trees. The shape, reminiscent of a tree trunk and limbs has a soft intertwining appearance which reflects light and shadow belying the hardness of steel. Planet Altered is delighted to offer Samuel’s work to the public and grateful he has several pieces which are small enough to fit indoors. We will have “Elegant” and more of Sam’s work in our gallery through April. We are open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00am to 5:00 pm and Saturdays from 8:00am to 11:00am.
