Balanced Rock by Samuel E Burns

The Sculpture Ranch is located on 145 acres, about seven miles from Johnson City, a ranch once owned by President Lyndon B. Johnson in the Texas Hill Country, . The project includes a 14,000 sq. ft. Studios Building featuring 50 years of Benini’s paintings, as well as the work of guest artists, a fine arts library, and the Sculpture Ranch on the surrounding acres.
The Benini Galleries & Sculpture Ranch
The Mediterranean-like setting provides a showcase for contemporary talent as national and international artists are placing large-scale, contemporary sculpture on the grounds.

The term, Sculpture Ranch, was chosen to reflect the strong environment of the Texas Hill Country. The pieces are installed along the entry road of the project and throughout the roadways and rolling hills.

While it is not competitive in spirit, a panel of peers in the arts determines acceptance of sculptures for display. Sculptures should be large-scale (suggested minimum height or width -10-12 feet) with materials suited for the outdoors Texas Hill Country, where winds at times are a factor. The subject matter is left to the artists, however, strong, non-representational pieces will fit best with the natural environment. Send slides, CD or a website if you would like to have your work considered. Please include the medium, size, and dates of availability to Lorraine@Benini.com or by mail to The Benini Galleries and Sculpture Ranch, 377 Shiloh Road, Johnson City, Texas 78636.
